Killing Bamboo
There are a few ways suggested on the internet to kill bamboo.
None of them work.
Seattle Bamboo have consulted with clients that have used powerful chemicals as well as rock salt and vinegar. We have talked to clients that have cut all the visible bamboo to the ground and covered the area with tarps or plastic to block new growth. We have even see bamboo groves where diesel fuel, gasoline, and other flammable materials were used to kill the plant.
All to no avail.
There is only one way to extricate the plant from your porperty and that is to dig out every rhizome under the ground.
The regenerative portion of the plant - the invincible rhizome.
